First Wednesdays are about creating a welcoming and supportive performance space for artists of all ages and levels. Come express your talents whether it be music, poetry, rap, or spoken word with a receptive group. Facilitated by Enfield musician Kevin Crane.
A variety of instruments including ukuleles, guitars, drums, violins, mandolins, and keyboards are available to be checked out at the library for a three week loan.

Summer Reading Kick-off
Free ticket for the magic show available June 17.
Summer Reading sign-ups begin at 9:00 am at Central Library. Meet Hartford Athletics mascot Dillon and receive a discount coupon for an upcoming game. At 10:00 am join magician Matt Matthews for a magical adventure ages 4 and up. You can also sign up at the Pearl Street Library beginning at 10:00 am.

RoboRhythm
A program of Smith College Robotics Outreach Initiative & Enfield Public Library
Have you ever wondered how robots can create music? Come find out at RoboRhythm! Our event will focus on blending robotics and music so middle school aged students can learn how robotics can be connected to creative fields. You will gain a new understanding of circuits and the engineering process as you engage with LEGO MINDSTORMS and the Makey Makey to create a symphony of music. We look forward to hearing what you create! Ages 12-14
Drum Circle
Asnuntuck Community College Professor Carol LaLiberte will lead an all-ages Drum Circle. Drums will be provided or bring your own. The library has many musical instruments available to be checked out including bongos, djembe, bodhran, and steelpan drums. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary.
Pearl Street Library Art Exhibition featuring Abby Poreda
Enfield High School senior Abby Poreda has a solo exhibition of her artwork at the historic Pearl Street Library. Abby is displaying here work through a partnership between the Pearl Street Library and the Enfield Public School’s Visual Arts Department. The Enfield Culture and Arts Commission was pivotal in supporting this partnership by bestowing a generous grant to install a hanging system for the display of student artwork.
Abby’s work is currently available to view at the Pearl St. Library until February 15th. An Artist’s Reception will be held at the library on Thursday, February 8th from 5:30 pm -7:30 pm.
Abby has taken a range of Visual Arts courses during her tenure at EHS and is currently enrolled in Honors Portfolio Preparation, and Ceramics. Her painting “Light” was just accepted into the Scholastic Art Competition and will be featured in the CT Regional Art Awards Exhibit at UHart School of Art from Jan 17th- Feb. 3rd, Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30p and Sat/Sun 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

National Puzzle Day Swap
Drop off a new or gently used puzzle between January 8th and 26th to receive a ticket to redeem during the swap. Come back on the 27th and pick out a new-to-you puzzle! This is an all ages event all levels of puzzle are welcome to be swapped. Drop-in
